During my recent visit to Hotel Vijaya Grand over Christmas, I found it to be a delightful retreat. The ambiance of the hotel was warm and welcoming, which I always appreciate as a documentary filmmaker; It allows for serene breaks in between my bustling shoots. My spacious double room came equipped with air conditioning, an electric kettle, and a flat-screen TV-ideal for unwinding after long days capturing the essence of the local culture. The staff were particularly admirable-not overly intrusive but always available to assist when needed. I even appreciated the complimentary bottled water provided, which was a much-needed refreshment after standing in darshan lines. The blend of comfort, cleanliness, and an authentic atmosphere makes it a perfect base for any traveler. Plus, it reflects a great sense of community care, which I believe is central to experiencing true Indian hospitality.
